6 Month-A-Versary

Today it has been 6 months since the kids moved in with us.  And the CPS worker is getting a waiver from the state that will allow us to adopt the kids.  There are no other hoops to jump through (well except the whole court proceedings, but that is more of a legality at this point.)  We will hopefully have a court date this week and I think that's pretty exciting.

There are a lot of changes coming for our family.  This summer we are trying to sell our house and purchase a larger one.  For obvious reasons, our little 1665 square foot house is not nearly large enough for the 5 of us.  At Christmas time, after our house was overwhelmed with presents from so many sources, expected and unexpected, I knew this wouldn't last as long as I originally thought. Yeah, I hate moving and really didn't want to move again for a while when we bought this house, but sometimes God just laughs at my plans.  Okay, he probably gets a lot of enjoyment from watching me sweat and worry and try to figure it out and eventually give up and let his will happen.

And my first born, organized child really needs a room separate from her younger, free spirited, keep-it-all sister.  I don't know if we can give her a room of her own immediately upon moving, but that is ultimately my goal.

I survived my first tax season with three kids.  Much thanks to BJ and the grandmas for making that happen.  I was pretty much a crazy person for about a month, but I survived.

Last weekend BJ and I attended A Weekend to Remember by Family Life and it was worth every penny.  We really enjoyed the weekend at a hotel without kids, but it was also nice to be reminded why we fell in love in the first place.  The sessions were really helpful and we learned a lot, or at least I did.  I think this is something we are going to try and do every so often throughout our marriage.

Sunday school is going well with us alternating teaching weeks.  I feel so much less busy and stressed with just that one break every other week.  Thank you God for a husband who is willing to help me when I need it and step up even when it isn't easy and help me take a little off of my plate.

In a month or so I am headed off to Wisconsin for a wedding.  I am really looking forward to catching up with some friends from college and just getting away for a weekend.

Quick update for those of you who have been holding your breath since the last post.  Hope no one passed out during the long wait. :) I hope to not leave this blog so bear in the next few weeks as it has been...but we will see.
